Hi Robin--So glad you commented so I could discover your blog. Your boys are beautiful (and so's the blog). Preschool is such a big step, I think it deserved balloons and candles and cake. :-)

I love this post. My very first blog post was on the exact same topic.... how I hardly felt like it was "worth it" to start a blog since I hadn't done it from day one. Looking back, it's obviously such silly and flawed thinking.

My boy started preschool this year and we celebrated the day before with balloons and blowing out candles (no cake... maybe next year) I found myself planning how we could do this every year and finally I just had to stop planning and enjoy the moment!

I know just what you mean. My kids' dad loved to say "that's what we do" about all kinds of things--which meant they were set in stone. Came to drive me nutty. I do love tradition in some ways, but I also believe in not being bound by them. I love the idea that making the best of every situation can be a tradition.

Thanks, Pammie! (I think they're adorable, too. Except for when they aren't. ;-)) And I'm trying really hard to live by "good enough is good enough." I probably say those words on a daily basis!
